Masculine Wash? Whoa! That was Our Product in Marketing Management!

>> Sunday, June 27, 2010

Look what I've found!   A masculine wash!

Hehehe, I am not over-reacting (OA), I am just surprised that there's now a masculine wash brand in the Philippines.  Way back our MBA days (last year), my group in Marketing Management (MarkMa) "launched" a product -- masculine wash branded as Intimus.  It is not a popular idea but because we are a bunch of wackos (LOL!), we thought of a unique product that is not yet available in the market then.

Our MarkMa Professor even encouraged us to go seriously into it but we brushed off the idea. We are contented on what we have and where we are, besides, we're just after the grades and the degree.

Here's the presentation / marketing study, we've presented:

Intimus Masculine Wash - Amazing videos are here

See? *grin*

Lesson learned:  The wackos are not all after a good laugh but can come up with good ideas too.  Ideas that can be transformed financially.

Now, if anyone wants to consult with us.  We are available 24/7. LOLz

Love Chicken? Time to Fill Up at Max's Chicken-All-You-Can Promo!

>> Thursday, June 17, 2010

As a way of celebrating and thanking their loyal patrons, Max's is giving us a Chicken-All-You-Can for only P165.00.  What a grand way to celebrate their 65th anniversary!

Max's has become a part of our life.  Never a month passes by without dining here.  We simply love the food!

So, off we (my family) went to the nearest Max's and eat our heart out.  I consumed two quarters (hey!  that's half of a chicken!) and I realized what a glutton am I, LOL.  Truly, sarap to the bones!

By the way, the terms and conditions of the promo are as follows:

1. Chicken will be served in quarter pieces, and parts will be based on availability.
2. Add P39.00 for bottomless Pepsi Softdrink.
3. Promo period is from June 17 - July 17, 2010 and from 6 PM to 10 PM only.
4. Promo valid for dine in only.  Not available for take-out, delivery and bulk orders.
5. Cannot be combined with other offers. No sharing. No Leftover. Chicken will be served after each piece has been consumed.

Gusto Lunch at Healthy Shabu-Shabu (Podium)

>> Wednesday, June 16, 2010

A birthday celebration of a colleague means a get-together lunch of our unit!  We usually eat our lunch together at any restaurant in Megamall but chose a different one this time.  The choice was Healthy Shabu-Shabu at Podium!

Each one of us had Seafood (yes, we are a bunch of healthy living humans LOL).  Though we were hesitant what will be the outcome and taste of our cooking, hunger pushed us to tumble everything in the pot -- noodles, prawns, squids, crabsticks, pechay, corn, sea urchin, oysters, fish fillet (don't know what variant), squid balls, kikiam, garlic, peppers, sauce and egg!  After a few minutes, the soup started to boil telling us that it is time to eat.  Yummy!!!

We also had free facial courtesy of the mist from the boiling soup! See for youself...

Still love to eat here though kinda pricey.  A modest meal costs around P500.00.  Also, it's not the typical eat-all-you-can shabu-shabu because it is served ala carte.  The waiting time is a li'l turn-off.  We had to wait for 20 minutes before they have served the ingredients.

So, if you are really hungry and had no intention to test your iron chef skills, better try to eat at other restaurant or you might end up with a scalded tongue.  LOL.

Bag Organizer for My Bag, Bra Organizer for My Bra!

>> Tuesday, June 8, 2010

Are you the type of girl who wants to bring her knick-knacks but tired of bringing her bag?  Good news!  There's something for you.  The Bra Organizer or the Cleavage Caddy!

Just like your bag organizer, it is a bra that has several pockets where you can put your important stuff such as lipstick, credit and ATM cards, and cellphone.

This reminds me of my Lola (grandmother) who keeps monies inside her bra.

(I don't think I'll be using this --  I don't have the cleavage and I can't keep all my stuff in there (my 2 cellphones, PSP, chargers, digicam, cards, cologne, etc. ).  I might look like the Hunchback of Notre Dame, only that my hunch is in front.  LOL!)

This may sound awkward to me but can be useful for others.  Now, get this one for yourself.  The next time you pay at the bus or jeepney, expect the driver ogling at your cleavage.

Farmville: Named by Time Magazine as One of the Top 50's Worst Invention

>> Saturday, June 5, 2010

I was surfing the whole morning (what a way to kill time! *grins*), chatting with fellow kadiskartes, refreshing my Facebook profile for the nth time when I stumbled Time's webpage.

Uh-oh! I hope my FB friends won't be mad at this.  Farmville is listed by Time Magazine as one of the 50's Worst Invention.  tsk tsk tsk!

Farmville is a simulation game developed by Zynga that can be played in Facebook. It is a game that offers virtual farming.  It has become one of the popular games in Facebook, and had surpassed what it had cloned - Farmtown.

I used to play Farmville (or commonly referred as FV) when it was still on its launching phase, but, I love Farmtown better.  I like the latter's ability to interact with other virtual farmers, though, I admit, FV has kewl variety of plants and buildings.

Here's what Time Magazine has to say:

Sorry folks, and dear farmers.  That's their list!

Okay, back to farming... continue clicking those plots!.. and please don't forget to send me gifts.  LOL

Sky Broadband's Router Power Promo and D-Link DIR-600

>> Thursday, May 27, 2010

I was supposed to avail Sky Broadband's Router Promo which ran from Feb 22 to May 24, 2010. It was a partnership between Sky Broadband and Xytrix Systems Corp. to give its subscribers a chance to own D-Link DIR-600 for only PhP 1,999, and DIR-615/E for PhP 3,399. Payments should be made directly to Xytrix Systems Corp.'s bank account, and in return, the subscriber will just have to wait for the delivery and installation.

Sounds like a real deal to me (who is too lazy to surf and canvass prices for these routers). I was set to send an email to Xytrix Systems Corp. for a D-Link DIR-600 when a friend of my colleague informed me that it was not a good deal at all. He sent me a link to Villman's webpage. OMG! It was cheaper by a few pesos indeed. Maybe, that's to compensate the free delivery and installation by Xytrix. I was still hesitant to buy because I might not install the router correctly. But, because Xytrix delivers only on Thursdays, and I am that impatient (ataters mode, hehe). I gave it a shot and bought one!

Ta-daaaaa!

It is easy to install as promised.  Just insert the provided CD installer and it works like a charm  *winks*.  No need to be techie! An additional perk by D-Link is a lifetime warranty, though I still have to check on them if this product is covered.  But I think there's something wrong with their online registration page,  it is not working.  I can't get through after that "submit" button, aaaargh!!!

Happy as a bee, I am contented with my new router.  While my son is busy playing online games via LAN, I can set myself and connect anywhere in the house.

Sky Cable's Upcoming Channel Line Up

>> Wednesday, May 26, 2010

Sky Cable, one of the cable providers in the country, has announced that there will be an upcoming change on their channel lineup this coming June 1.  Weeeee! Well, that's after reading the flier attached to my monthly billing statement which I am ignoring for days. Thinking that it was just a a piece of paper lying around the living room.  Sometimes, it really pays to read marketing materials, LOL!

According to their website and flier, they  will do a revamp of their current channel lineup to include the following:  History, Bio, Crime and Investigation, ASN and SBS, a Korean channel.   Wow!  I love these channels.  I hope these are included in the Silver Package.

Hmmmm, but wait, there's a condition.  This is only applicable to subscribers who owns a digibox (and using it --  which I am not!).  For almost 3 weeks, I have detached it from our TV and connected the RCA directly (to the TV) instead.  Yes, it is possible but I have no access to other channels after Channel 58 (Asian Food Channel).  Still,  I can live with that because I only need these channels:  HBO (54), Star Movies (55), Nick (45) and Cinema One (56).

(If you are wondering, why did I chose not to use the digibox, it's because I want to save electricity.  Damn that high cost of electricity!  But that's another story.)

So, I think I should better use our digibox again because I am a fan of those "new" channels!  Let alone Meralco.  Teehee!  ^_^

Buzzing Around

The author first came up with a blog name - Real Life Consumer - which discusses on first hand experience on products, places, people and promotions; but finds it too formal and does not reflect the true "HER."

She changed her blogname to "Buzzing Around" because that's what she want to talks about! Anything under the sun - topics about fashion, social ranting, techie gadgets, and pinoy culture.

The style of writing is light, humorous (sometimes with sarcasm), and informal.
