My Dilemma - Adding Emoticons and Smileys on Blog Posts and Comments Section

>> Wednesday, June 30, 2010

I've been googling for hours and seems can't find a good way to add emoticons and smileys on my new posts. loser

Yes, I can hear you saying that there are tons of tutorials available on the internet but, sorry, these tricks and tweaks did not worked for me.  I've tried installing and running some scripts using Greasemonkey (a Firefox add-on that allows to run scripts) but it didn't worked, too.  I also tried downgrading my FF from 3.6 to 3.5 to no avail because I read in one tutorial that it is guaranteed to work in version 3.5.  Nothing worked.

I gave up.  crying

Really?  You think so?  big grin

You bet I won't give up!  Now that you've seen these cute yahoo messenger emoticons in this post means that I've tried another method.  That is -- the drag and drop method.  winking  It means that I simply insert these emoticons as images.

It seems that those tutorials are not working anymore.  Most of these are already 2 years old.  Maybe their tricks and scripts are not working or compatible with the new Firefox.

I'll just wait 'til someone teaches or give me a link that will work (for me).

UPDATE:

I finally solved my case.party

I logged to my other blogger account (under a different email) and was surprised that the scripts and Greasemonkey is actually working! So, what's the matter?

It seems that the Google adsense is blocking or preventing the scripts to run. Okay, fine, whatever!  No more emoticons under the Comments Section, and I just have to be contented on inserting the emoticons.  whistling

nice! tip: for better placement, style the images via css and place negative margins so that it is inline with the text ;)

Buzzing Around

The author first came up with a blog name - Real Life Consumer - which discusses on first hand experience on products, places, people and promotions; but finds it too formal and does not reflect the true "HER."

She changed her blogname to "Buzzing Around" because that's what she want to talks about! Anything under the sun - topics about fashion, social ranting, techie gadgets, and pinoy culture.

The style of writing is light, humorous (sometimes with sarcasm), and informal.
